Evisu remains committed to using vintage shuttle looms from the 1920s to produce its denim. Although these antique machines operate slowly and yield extremely low output, they weave a fabric with a distinct, substantial texture that exudes a rich vintage aesthetic.
The brand makes extensive use of high-quality Japanese selvedge denim. This fabric undergoes up to 30 separate dips in indigo dye, resulting in a unique fading effect along the selvedge—a hallmark of premium denim.
"Ten Thousand Stitch" Embroidery: Evisu’s embroidery is renowned for its high density and striking three-dimensional depth. Whether applied to the iconic rear-pocket motifs or other decorative patterns, the brand frequently employs a "Ten Thousand Stitch" technique, characterized by incredibly intricate needlework and vibrant colors.
The brand incorporates unique buttons based on traditional designs—featuring a laurel wreath motif symbolizing victory (known as the "Victory Button")—and utilizes up to nine different thread colors for various sections of the garment, demonstrating an exceptional attention to detail.
